Old buildings and historic spaces are limited resources. These tangible historic elements connect us to the stories and people from the past and provide a vital narrative of a community’s identity. Even the smallest details can change a structure’s character and feel if thoughtless alterations and/or removals occur. As owners, inhabitants and users of heritage spaces, it is imperative that we view ourselves as stewards of these structures and ensure our personal tastes and biases do not influence sound reasoning for appropriate interventions. 

A graduate of the Heritage Conservation Program at Willowbank, I (Mike) am able to draw on my training from some of Canada’s most skilled practitioners in restoration arts. Through careful research and documentation balanced with a knowledgeable and sensitive approach to hands on work, Square Peg Restorations aims to help you with your stewardship of your heritage place.
